The University of British Columbia

This is a UBC signature event taking place on the shores of Jericho Beach with over 3,000 people paddling through the ocean. It is the largest voyageur canoe race in the world and the biggest UBC REC event. The format is simple, teams of rowers compete with other boats through heats, and then if they qualify, into the finals. This all takes place over a weekend. There are Mens, Womens, CoRec and Just For Fun classifications so everyone has an opportunity to take part and enjoy the challenge. All teams MUST attend a mandatory pre-race clinic in order to race which is scheduled for the weekend immediately prior to the competition.

Directions
Vehicle: From 4th Ave, head northwest on NW Marine Drive. Turn North on Discovery Street and follow to the Jericho Sailing Centre.

Public Transit: Take the #4 (Eastbound if traveling from the UBC, Westbound if coming from anywhere East of NW Marine and 4th Ave.) to NW Marine Drive at 4th Ave. Walk northwest on NW Marine Drive to Discovery Street. Shuttle: When public transportation is not available, participants will be able to bus directly from the Student Recreation Centre to the Jericho Sailing Centre on Saturday and Sunday mornings at a cost of $2 each way.

Every bus will be leaving on schedule, so please make sure that you are on time to catch the bus.
