Tae Kwon Do is a modern, Korean martial art characterized by high, fast and spinning kicks. Officially incorporated as Korea's national sport in 1961, TKD is now an Olympic sport, and there are over 50 million people who practice TKD world wide. UBC Tae Kwon Do's instructors are from Kee's Tae Kwon Do school - and, as a consequence, are affiliated with the WTF. In general Tae Kwon Do uses punches and kicks to fight. They are efficient, precise and fast, thus they require both flexibility and concentration. Tae Kwon Do workouts involve stetching, forms, a cardio workout and culminate in sparring. All levels welcome.
